Frequently Asked Questions

Whether you’ve not ridden much or you’re a regular rider, you probably have a few questions about your upcoming ride or class with Western Trail Rides.

What are the benefits of riding horses?

Learning to ride horses builds confidence in ones self.  Learning to trust and respect a 900-1,200 pound animal is incredibly fulfilling and will boost your confidence to try other activities.  Horses do not always do what we ask of them the first try, but with perseverance and endurance we learn humility, trust, and patience to not give in nor give up.  And by doing so we build self confidence.  Working with and riding horses builds tenacity, which can grow into countless other opportunities of determination to success in other areas of life.  The dedication and love that goes into a relationship with horses teaches us to have personal boundaries, and to have compassion for one another, as well as setting goals and overcoming challenging obstacles.  I believe the interaction between humans and horses are a valuable asset, teaching us extraordinary life lessons.

What should I wear to the ranch?

It’s best to wear long pants when riding horses. Boots or closed-toed shoes are appropriate footwear – no open-toed shoes or sandals.

What should I bring to the ranch?

We suggest bringing a 16-ounce water bottle, weather appropriate amenities (Chapstick, sunscreen).

Can two people share a saddle?

No, one person to one saddle.

The boyz & I are looking forward to seeing you at the ranch soon!
